I want to be completely upfront and detailed about who I am so we are on the same page. Legally, biologically, and emotionally, I am a woman. My Oregon ID and court records all recognize me as female. However, I was born with a severe hormone imbalance and genital deformity that caused me to be falsely raised as a boy.

I have spent the last 10 years correcting this medical mismatch through HRT, including weekly estradiol valerate injections and daily testosterone blockers. To fully correct my anatomy, I am undergoing a two-part surgery called a vaginaplasty this coming summer. The first step will be a zero-depth vulvaplasty, followed by the creation of the vaginal canal once healed.
